About: The introduction of a digital battery passport by the European Commission aims to support sustainable and circular battery management by requiring comprehensive documentation and data exchange across the battery value chain through a digital platform. Defined in Article 77 of the EU Battery Regulation, the digital battery passport will be mandatory for light-duty vehicle batteries, industrial batteries with a capacity greater than 2 kWh and electric vehicle batteries placed on the EU market by February 18, 2027.
