More About the Project
AutoMar’s container yard is a vital link in their logistics chain, where efficient coordination of machinery is essential to keeping ships on schedule and goods flowing. While their existing fixed allocation of yard machinery performed well, AutoMar saw an opportunity to explore whether a more dynamic approach could deliver even greater results.
Leveraging AnyLogic Simulation Software, our team designed a highly accurate simulation model of their operations, incorporating actual workflows and real-world constraints. We tested their current fixed allocation strategy and compared it to a dynamic, demand-driven allocation scenario. The simulation revealed that the dynamic approach significantly reduced ship loading times, improving overall yard efficiency while making better use of resources.
