IndX, a global leader in industrial digital transformation, proudly announces that its cloud-based Movilitas.Cloud platform is the first product verification solution to achieve Gateway Certified™ Verification Router Service (VRS) Level 2 accreditation.

The U.S. pharmaceutical industry relies on VRS systems to verify the authenticity of prescription medicines by checking unique product identifiers — including lot number, expiration date, trade item identifier and serial number — against data recorded by manufacturers or distributors. This process is critical to ensuring a product’s authenticity and protecting patients from counterfeit, non-compliant or diverted medicines.

The VRS Network enables Authorized Trade Partners (ATPs) to instantly verify product identifiers as products move through the supply chain. As a cornerstone of the Food and Drug Administration’s Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), the VRS Network helps safeguard the U.S. drug supply chain by preventing suspect products from reaching patients.

However, the VRS Network's success depends on a common product lookup directory and seamless interoperability between solution providers — many of whom rely on self-testing to demonstrate system readiness and compliance. This lack of independent verification creates a risk of misaligned systems and inconsistent product verification outcomes.

The Gateway Certified™ VRS Verify™ accreditation program, administered by Gateway Checker™, addresses this challenge by independently testing product verification systems against the VRS System Readiness Testing protocols established by the U.S. Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA). The program validates that verification requests and responses perform accurately and consistently in accordance with DSCSA regulations and industry standards.

"Gateway Checker™ has always been heavily involved in the development of the VRS standards and builds tools to measure the health of this multi-vendor platform. We are very pleased that an independent organization has begun certifying these solutions, allowing the market to select a trusted partner for DSCSA verification requirements,” said Marc Blekkink, Managing Director of Movilitas.Cloud at IndX.
“Independent testing and accreditation are necessary to demonstrate and document that product verification systems perform as expected. This is especially true with VRS, as ten different VRS systems must continually synchronize their lookup directory with each other. The supply chain and patients are better served by systems that undergo extensive, standardized testing. Unavailable or erroneous product verification results could delay shipments or let suspect products enter the legitimate supply chain,” said Gary Lerner, Founder and President of Gateway Checker™. “Gateway Checker™ applauds Movilitas’s leadership and their ongoing support of application standards, their willingness to engage in independent lifecycle testing and their commitment to drug product verification. In recognition of their accomplishment, Movilitas can proudly display the Gateway Certified™ seal. We encourage all solution providers and drug manufacturers interested in validating their VRS system and assuring DSCSA compliance to join the Gateway Certified™ test program.”

IndX and Gateway Checker™ are committed to strengthening pharmaceutical supply chain security through independent verification and industry-leading compliance solutions. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in ensuring seamless interoperability, regulatory adherence and enhanced product verification accuracy, empowering pharmaceutical stakeholders to meet and exceed DSCSA requirements with confidence.
