About the Customer
The customer is an American Aerospace & Defense (A&D) company and one of the largest producers of defense air, ground, and space vehicles and equipment in the world. Engineering’s Industries eXcellence division has been working with the customer over the last few years as their strategic Digital Manufacturing partner. Our previous work for the manufacturer has involved leading a multi-site assessment, software maturity modeling, roadmapping and strategy consulting for Industry 4.0.
About the Project
This summer, Industries eXcellence's USA team kicked off a new initiative for the customer to help them improve their production processes and results by leveraging the powerful capabilities offered by Manufacturing Process Simulation technologies. Building off their existing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system deployment, our team of Simulation experts was called in to provide technical expertise for Tecnomatix Process Simulate, Teamcenter Manufacturing, and most importantly the integration between the two systems, without which neither could properly be utilized.
Working closely with all customer stakeholders, the aim of this project was to provide the technical expertise and A&D industry knowledge needed to support and guide the customer’s end users as they expanded and developed the features, functionality, and integration between Teamcenter and Process Simulate. In the future, the customer is interested in further leveraging Tecnomatix to perform what-if analyses and virtual commissioning in order to virtually validate their assembly process and the usage of robotics and automation.
With one of the few established practices for Manufacturing Simulation technology in North America, and having already built a team of experts who have knowledge on the customer’s specific processes and requirements, Engineering looks forward to continuing to build this relationship and supporting many more initiatives for the customer in the future.
