Houston, Texas, USA -

As the newest official Solution Partner of Siemens Motion Control, Engineering is pleased to announce having delivered a successful Siemens SINUMERIK Integrate for Production pilot implementation at the Houston-based production plant of an international leader in the Oil & Gas industry.

The product in scope was Analyze MyPerformance (AMP), SINUMERIK Integrate’s Machine Data Acquisition (MDA) solution. AMP enables the automatic collection of real-time downtime statuses and performance data from CNC machines as well as the automatic calculation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as Machine Utilization and Machine Availability, based on the data obtained. AMP also provides analysis tools capable of distinguishing production, set up, and maintenance downtimes from technical issues, allowing users to evaluate both the performance of individual tools and machines as well as the productivity of the shop floor entirely.

As the official system integrator for the pilot AMP implementation, Engineering first installed and configured the product, then trained the customer’s personnel on the product, its benefits, as well as how to use it, all in order to prepare them to take ownership of their new system. As a result of the pilot implementation, the customer is now able to track the productivity and efficiency of six different CNC machines on their shop floor and has gained a much deeper and more transparent understanding of the performance of each of their machines and their overall plant as well.

After the completion of the pilot, the customer decided to extend the AMP system to all the CNC machines in their production plant.  The extension will include the integration of non-SINUMERIK controllers on the shop floor as well. Engineering looks forward to continuing this exciting project for the Oil & Gas leader, as well as to delivering more successful SINUMERIK Integrate for Production implementations to many different customers and industries in the future.
