About the Customer

Engineering’s digital manufacturing team recently delivered a successful Manufacturing Simulation training program to one of the world’s largest producers of guided missiles. The Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing customer is a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics. The customer is also a leading developer and manufacturer of radars, electro-optical sensors, and other advanced electronics systems for airborne, naval and ground-based military applications.

The Customer’s Need

Our team of simulation experts was called in to deliver end user software training at the manufacturer's Dallas-based facility dedicated to the production of radar equipment for drones. When Engineering started working with them, the customer had already purchased Siemens' leading Tecnomatix Process Simulate software in order to virtually validate their assembly process, but needed help with adoption and end user acceptance on an enterprise scale.

Tecnomatix Process Simulate is a digital solution for manufacturing process verification in a 3D environment. Process Simulate is a major enabler of speed-to-market by allowing manufacturing organizations to virtually validate manufacturing concepts upfront – throughout the lifecycle of new product introductions. The ability to leverage 3D data of products and resources facilitates virtual validation, optimization and commissioning of complex manufacturing processes, resulting in faster launch and higher production quality.

About the Project

Working closely together with the customer, our team led the Manufacturing Software Training program for the new system. The aim of the project was to help spread knowledge and utilization of the features and capabilities of Tecnomatix Process Simulate across numerous plants within the United States. Our role-specific training approach also ensured that different end users could use Process Simulate as necessary for their individual responsibilities, from assembly collision analysis to wire/cable length validation to marketing.

Many of the end users had never seen Tecnomatix Process Simulate before, so Engineering started with the very basics and remained flexible, tailoring workshops towards the customer’s needs and interests as the project evolved. Engineering provided detailed training and activities that helped both the end users and their managers feel significantly more comfortable with the usage and benefits of Tecnomatix Process Simulate.

Software Training @ Engineering

Many companies fall short trying to implement their IT training plans without the help of consultants like ours and an implementation plan specifically catered to their company. This is often due to lack of skilled resources, experience with the system, time, and/or all of the above. Our expert training team is committed to filling this gap. We offer many different types of software training including:

  • One-on-One Training
  • Team or Group Training
  • Remote Training
  • Web-Based Training
  • Training Simulations

Because every customer is special and unique, our program’s adaptability to business end users’ needs is one of our greatest assets. Together with our dedicated training team, we identify and define a customer's specific training requirements, which our experts then execute. The result: higher user acceptance, IT initiative success and a significant return on the company’s software investment. We are proud to have helped this customer adopt their new simulation system, as a result ensuring that they can now reap the full value of their new tool in transforming their production processes and improving their production results. We hope to continue our work together and help them further expand this initiative across all their facilities worldwide.
