Chicago, Illinois, USA -
Siemens announced today the appointment of Engineering as a Solution Partner for its SINUMERIK Integrate for Production software suite — bringing increased production efficiency through the integration of SINUMERIK-controlled machine tools into the manufacturing and IT processes. As a leading system integrator of IT solutions, Engineering will focus on three modules — Manage MyTools, Manage MyPrograms and Analyze MyPerformance.
Manage MyTools (MMT) provides a comprehensive overview of a CNC machine’s tooling including remaining tool life. Tools and tool master data can be centrally managed and optimized throughout the entire manufacturing facility, allowing the machine tool operator to plan the tools required for a particular machining job while optimizing resources and considerably decreasing machine setup time.
Manage MyPrograms (MMP) supports a paperless manufacturing environment, as programs and additional product information such as drawings are simply sent to the CNC machines throughout the network in the form of attachments. By centrally managing NC (Numerical Control) programs in the factory, detailed workpiece planning, short-run jobs or even serial production runs on the shop floor can ensure manufacturing process reliability.
Analyze MyPerformance (AMP) provides reliable data about the efficiency of an entire plant or system. With a focus on CNC machines, it provides a comprehensive overview of total productivity and helps to identify bottlenecks in the manufacturing process, allowing fault causes to be determined and corrective action to be taken.
Ryan Legg, Product Manager, SINUMERIK CNC, Siemens, explains, “Engineering has extensive experience with manufacturing IT integration, which makes them an ideal partner for the integration of our SINUMERIK Integrate for Production manufacturing IT software suite. With their additional experience with Siemens PLM and MES solutions, we have a high level of confidence in their ability to integrate these solutions for our customer base.”
Chris Draska, Director of Operations, Engineering North America, noted, “Engineering is very excited about this new partnership and being able to offer the SINUMERIK Integrate solution suite. It will help strengthen our offering with the overall goal of improving our clients’ business drivers from product design to manufacturing.”
