Chicago, IL –

Engineering has just won a competitive project bid for a global leader in the Consumer Packaged Goods manufacturing industry. The customer manufactures glass and metal containers, working primarily with the Food & Beverage sector. The project entails an enterprise Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) system upgrade and deployment and is set to begin in February of 2016. Led and managed by Engineering’s world-class Supply Chain Management team, the initiative will cover all 13 of the customer’s USA-based production plants. Engineering looks forward to working with the customer, delivering a successful implementation and helping the customer achieve both their production and business goals.

About the Customer

The customer is a global packaging manufacturer and a global leader in glass and metal packaging solutions. Driven by their industry expertise and known for their commitment to quality and continuous improvement, the company has grown into an international powerhouse with 89 glass and metal manufacturing production facilities in 21 countries.

The Customer's Need

The customer has already automated their Sales & Operations Planning processes and currently has numerous different applications in place. For example, their simulation environment and their operational environment are managed by separate tools, each from different software providers. Due to the lack of integration and interoperability amongst these different systems, not to mention the existence of outdated and ineffective systems, the customer’s is looking to both upgrade their old applications as well as unify all of their S&OP processes under a single and well-integrated system.

About the Solution

Engineering’s expert team will be working with the sedApta Sales & Operations Planning Software Suite’s Inventory Planning module for this project.

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) helps companies reach their business goals by balancing the overall demand for products, planning the entire supply chain and optimizing the production plan. The Suite’s Inventory Planning module generates the stock replenishment plan for the various supply chain echelons based on sales forecasts and their reliability, service level targets, stock level policies, supply lead times, inventory costs and existing customer orders.
