Engineering Industries eXcellence Awarded at First Siemens Americas User Conference for Plant Simulation
April 17-18, 2018, Livonia, Michigan, USA –
Last month, Engineering Industries eXcellence’s team of simulation experts participated in Siemens’ Americas User Conference for Tecnomatix Plant Simulation in Livonia, Michigan. The Plant Simulation User Conference has been held for 5 years now in Stuttgart, Germany. However, thanks to the expanding adoption and interest in digital simulation solutions in the American industrial setting, this was the first Siemens User Conference dedicated solely to simulation technology users in the Americas.
The first Americas event hosted around 50 Plant Simulation enthusiasts, who came together to share developments, ideas, concepts and use cases in the simulation space in a variety of open forum discussions. The mix of technical and business roles, as well as expertise level, from the participants made for some great Q&A. Manufacturers charging the way in the adoption of simulation technologies attended to share their challenges and experience, amongst them FCA, GM, KUKA, Magna, Williams International, P&G, Western Digital, and many others.
As a niche partner with unique expertise and experience delivering simulation projects to manufacturers, Engineering Industries eXcellence was invited by Siemens PLM to attend and present at their first event. Carlos Ortega, Senior Simulation Analyst for our Industries eXcellence division, led a session centered on using the Plant Simulation optimization tool (Genetic Algorithms) to maximize the profit of allocating oil rigs across the world.
Engineering Industries eXcellence also received an appreciation award recognizing our valuable contribution to the forum and to pushing for the advancement and adoption of simulation technologies across all manufacturing sectors. The event further solidified our strong belief that Simulation is a cornerstone in any Industry 4.0 strategy, and one that must be explored by any company aiming at remaining relevant and profitable in the future landscape of the global manufacturing market. We look forward to attending and seeing this event grow in the coming years.
