Engineering Showcase at DMDII Digital Disruption Workshop: Factory Floor Transformation
November 14, 2017, UI LABS-DMDII, Chicago – Digital technology is progressing at a rapid pace while both solutions and challenges continue to emerge and create further complexity for business owners. The Digital Manufacturing & Design Innovation Institute (DMDII) in Chicago hosted participants for a one-day, experiential learning workshop to explore how digital technologies impact the factory floor and are redefining how people, processes and equipment will function in the “Future Factory.” The workshop included a panel discussion on digital disruption on the factory floor, a keynote speaker, Gary Neidig President of ITAMCO discussing his company’s digital journey, and experiential learning break-out sessions led by solution innovators. Engineering was proud to be one of the innovators asked to support this event for top leaders in industry, leading the break-outs for Manufacturing Simulation, Manufacturing Executions Systems (MES) and Shop Floor Integration technologies.
For DMDII, partners from the academic, non-profit and technology communities were integral to the success of this workshop and will be to the realization of its ambitious vision overall moving forward.
“DMDII was excited to feature key innovators, such as Engineering, who are helping organizations embark on their digital journey by introducing cutting-edge technologies allowing manufacturers to transform their operations,” said Kym Wehrle, DMDII Operations Manager.
