The Customer’s Need
The end customer for this digital transformation project is the energy-focused division of the electronics corporation that leads EV battery production in the United States. They wanted to implement an innovative MES software solution at one of their EV battery facilities, but in its current form, the platform’s functionalities needed to be extended and refined to seamlessly integrate with their manufacturing ecosystem. In doing so, the battery manufacturer’s goal is to increase the production output of their facility with minimal design changes and produce more than 12 million batteries for leading EV manufacturers worldwide.

About the Project
The EV battery manufacturer sought the assistance of an MES expert with software development expertise suited specifically for the automotive industry. Engineering Industries eXcellence has the unique skillset and expertise that made us the perfect strategic partner for this initiative.
Our Digital Manufacturing team is first providing comprehensive software development services, contributing our automotive and battery manufacturing expertise to customize the MES software to meet the unique needs of the EV facility. Next, our specialists will integrate the solution with the customer's shop floor machines, covering data migration, manufacturing line automation and machine connectivity. This involves complex integrations with the customer’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. By connecting these critical systems, our team will enable a more efficient manufacturing ecosystem with a higher output of EV batteries. Upon a successful deployment of the MES at their U.S. production facility, our team will discuss the possibility of scaling the project and implementing the solution across the customer’s global enterprise.
