Andrea Colosimo: Hi, my name is Andrea Colosimo. I am a Senior PLM Solution Architect for Hyla Soft (now Engineering Industries eXcellence). This week, our team is here at the Siemens PLM World event to showcase our roadmap to Industry 4.0. At our booth this week, we are really focused on providing a comprehensive technology demo that walks you through both the virtual and physical worlds of manufacturing. So, our offering starts from design to simulation, through manufacturing planning and all the way down to execution out on the shop floor.
David Kaparis: Hi, my name is David Kaparis. I am one of the Associate Partners here at Hyla Soft (now Engineering Industries eXcellence). Today, we are seeing a completely different approach to manufacturing. Before, it was: try it and learn from your mistakes. Well, the future is going to look very different. Competitive manufacturers are not going to make costly mistakes and hope to learn from them. Instead, they will look to the Digital Twin. They are going to virtually model their entire manufacturing process, learn from that virtual model, and only then implement those solutions in the physical world. For large enterprises, this will mean saving millions of dollars in implementation costs, millions of dollars in effort, and ensuring that decisions made get it right the first time. Never before in the history of manufacturing have we been able to do that. But now the technology exists, and we're excited to deliver it for our customers in the years ahead.
Chris Draska: Hi, my name is Chris Draska. I am the Director of Operations at Hyla Soft (now Engineering Industries eXcellence) in North America. At PLM World this week, our company is here to showcase how we deliver the Digital Thread for Industry 4.0 leveraging Siemens technologies. Unlike many others in this playing field, we are focused on the manufacturing, not the design side, of PLM. We pick up where the product actually has to be built, working with the manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers and quality engineers, putting the pieces together to create the actual final assembly or fabrication part, and then leveraging solutions that can help the operators on the floor execute on those specifications set by the manufacturing engineering group. Time and money are saved leveraging the Digital Twin because companies can go to market sooner. Having virtual representations of the physical world, they can shift left and bring activities into parallel procedures for new product releases or new production rollouts.
Hyla Soft (now Engineering Industries eXcellence) is an independent system integrator, and we partner with many different software vendors, but over the years, we have found that Siemens has the best vision for the overall closed-loop manufacturing picture from engineering through production. No other vendor is also a manufacturing company, so not only does Siemens have their own software, they actually use it. They cover everything from engineering design, to simulation, through execution, through automation and controls and even different equipment on the shop floor.
David Kaparis: I look at PLM World and I see only advantages. I get to meet new, exciting people with a passion for manufacturing and technology. I get to learn about their problems. I get to learn about their organizations and understand, well, how can we help each other? And that's one of the key things I love about PLM World: being able to find each other, find those common problems and brainstorm solutions to solve them. Also, I love meeting our customers, some of whom have been working with our team for a very long time. I get to see them and catch, but more importantly, I get to hear how things are going and learn how the fruits of our work together has helped them improve their business and operations. See you at PLM World!
