A New Partnership Brings Supply Chain Traceability to U.S. Pharmaceuticals
Engineering Industries eXcellence Joins Forces with LedgerDomain to Help Pharmaceutical Companies Achieve FDA Compliance Using Movilitas.Cloud.
August 30, 2023, Chicago, Illinois, USA –
LedgerDomain, a United States software provider of decentralized technologies, aims to bring powerful applications that help deliver trust and visibility to the healthcare supply chain. As a global leader in digital transformation, a software maker, a system integrator and a provider of technology solutions and services, Engineering Industries eXcellence has partnered with LedgerDomain to leverage the combined power of their innovative solutions for advanced pharmaceutical compliance.
As Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) deadlines approach, U.S. pharmaceutical companies will soon have to meet strict compliance requirements. Engineering Industries eXcellence’s proprietary solution, Movilitas.Cloud, and LedgerDomain both deliver credential-secured messages to the Verification Router Service (VRS), a network of solution providers established to handle enhanced drug verification under the law. A LedgerDomain-Movilitas.Cloud partnership provides fully realized verification solutions for both the requester (distributor or dispenser) and responder (manufacturer or repackager), including authentication of Authorized Trading Partner (ATP) status as defined in the Food and Drug Administration law.
“Every authorized trading partner in the U.S. pharma supply chain faces four key questions,” said Ben Taylor, CEO of LedgerDomain. “How will you manage your own credentials to best match up with 120,000+ other ATPs? How will you authenticate the status of counterparties? How can you ensure auditability for these checks? And how can you work more effectively with your partners while protecting against bad actors? This partnership between LedgerDomain and Movilitas.Cloud will help pharmaceutical players answer them all.”
“As one of the first Verification Router Service-capable providers, the Movilitas.Cloud team was able to successfully implement LedgerDomain’s XATP Credential technology within our application’s DSCSA verification functionality. This integration breaks ground and enables the use of ATP credentials to identify the sender and receiver of a verification. This joint solution will enable the U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain to reach full compliance quickly and cost-effectively,“ said Marc Blekkink, Managing Director of Movilitas.Cloud at Engineering Industries Excellence.
As both organizations are members of the Open Credentialing Initiative (OCI), Engineering Industries eXcellence and LedgerDomain support initiatives to enhance supply chain security. With both teams working closely together, pharmaceutical companies can obtain proper information exchanges and achieve safe and secure credentialing.
