Our customer is a transatlantic aircraft developer and manufacturer that is changing the way we fly. Their solar-powered aircraft can achieve perpetual uncrewed flight while being inexpensive to maintain and leaving a zero-carbon footprint. The Customer’s Need
In the last decade, our customer has quickly evolved from an innovative startup into a prominent player in the aerospace industry. With this rapid growth came an increasing customer base and a new set of operational challenges, particularly around managing and sharing product data. Recognizing the importance of data as a strategic asset, they set out to establish robust processes for secure and efficient engineering and manufacturing data sharing across their hubs in Europe and North America. Ensuring compliance with stringent defense industry standards, including National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), was a top priority. Beyond compliance, they aimed to create a centralized data repository to facilitate data searchability and reuse. Their broader vision includes implementing foundational PLM capabilities, standardizing workflows and enabling system-generated part numbering to streamline operations at their manufacturing facilities.

About the Project
Before launching a new PLM system, our team must first meticulously lay the groundwork for success. Through comprehensive requirements-gathering workshops, our PLM experts are identifying opportunities for improvement in the current system to design a future-ready solution that builds on its strengths. We are crafting a detailed solution blueprint, documenting an optimized PLM system tailored to the customer’s needs and presenting it for approval before initiating deployment. The new system will be powered by Siemens Teamcenter for Engineering and seamlessly integrate with Siemens NX, enabling effortless data sharing with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools. In parallel, our Design Automation team is leveraging their Siemens software expertise to train the customer’s user base, equipping them to maximize the value of both their existing tools and the upcoming solution. This dual approach ensures a smooth transition and lasting success for the customer’s operations.
