Our Industries eXcellence team was recently involved in a session at the Additive Manufacturing Experience Center at Siemens Erlangen Additive Manufacturing Plant. With Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology, companies can perform rapid prototyping, rapid repair and rapid manufacturing. The value of additive is lower scrap, flexibility for design changes, reduction of lead time and many more. The session discussed the latest additive manufacturing advancements and capabilities being realized in the market. Connecting market needs with the technology was a key discussion point, and a point best realized by the Siemens portfolio, which is taking the lead in bringing technology to the market in order to enable companies to move into additive manufacturing. So how do I incorporate this into my PLM system? How do I deliver 3D print jobs to the equipment? Where do I start? All very good questions.
