First-Ever Midwest Food & Beverage Leadership Summit in Chicago

Engineering Industries eXcellence’s Industries eXcellence division, together with technology partners Demand Solutions, FSO Institute and Siemens Digital Industries, hosted the first-ever Midwest Food & Beverage Leadership Summit, a unique industry event which gathered local manufacturing leadership from the U.S. Midwest region to discuss innovation, disruption and the new dimensions of food manufacturing health. The summit took place at MxD, a state-of-the-art innovation center for the advancement of American manufacturing, and included a tour of MxD's Factory of the Future, where attendees got an up-close look at new manufacturing technologies that improve supply chain traceability, enable the management of disruptions and optimize Sales & Operations Planning processes.
The summit focused on addressing new challenges Food & Beverage Manufacturing companies are facing as a result of the pandemic. Academia, manufacturing, technology and government came together with the goal of contributing their insights toward a more holistic view of the industry’s future trajectory. Session topics ranged from food traceability to hygienic equipment design to asset optimization. In order to better understand the differing perspectives of attendees and their companies, speaker sessions included interactive polls and concluded with open discussions. After the summit, a post-event findings report was released to attendees, ensuring everyone present was fully equipped with the knowledge gained.
