Winter Simulation Conference (WSC) is the premier annual forum on simulation practice and theory in North America. Every year, WSC provides the central meeting place for simulation practitioners, researchers and vendors working in all disciplines and in the industrial, governmental, military and academic sectors. Experts come together in order to share and disseminate the most recent advancements and applications in the field of system simulation and data science.

A strategic design approach during simulation model development is an increasingly important requirement to support large-scale simulation initiatives. In this Industry 4.0 case study, our experts will present the importance that adopting two design approaches proved to be during the development of simulation models for a manufacturing customer:
- Test-driven simulation model development;
- Data-driven simulation modeling.
In addition, in a multi-developer setting, our team will show how the simulation model architecture they built played an integral role in enabling collaboration among users by separating model components while ensuring appropriate interoperability between components and minimized redundancy.
